BLACKGATE and ELNA capacitors deserved special attention due to their high quality which many audiophiles love. There is almost an immediate and noticeable improvement in sound quality once they are being used to replace inferior quality caps, and the effect will be more pronounce when they have burnt in.

The price of these caps has becoming quite expensive in comparison – a black gate heart of muse 2x100mfd new in packing fetches $10000hk a piece in the market, and I witnessed four brand new caps lying on my table. Caps having 500V working voltage were all consumed. Only the following items remain:

ELNA CAPS

It is quite fortunate that high voltage caps at 500V are still available. You can connect two caps in series for your 211 or 845 amps that usually work close but below 1000V. Or you may connect three caps (350V) in series to get a little bit more safe margin. Two series connected caps (350V)  will be used for plate voltage above 500V (some push pull amps require 550-600V working voltage). The combination is simple and neat. You must put equalisation resistor (about 200kohm 2W) across each cap when they are connected in series to ensure proper distribution of supplied voltage. The following caps are in stock:
